SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!

Well I'm taking a break in my little catch up posts to make a little post about well the "beautiful in its own special way" weather we have been having lately. Yes we were very fortunate to have a White Christmas this year, which I will talk more about that later :) I love the snow! Don't particularly like to drive in it or shovel it but I love it still the same, its so pretty and magcial I think. It makes me happy and well I love taking pictures of it! :-)
This was taken from the storm we got around the 16th of December
As you can see we never got all the apples picked from our trees but I think it makes the picture look extra cool, adds a little color :-)
My arms are getting sore from helping my dad shovel the driveway so many times, love that!

Christmas Concert

On December 8th my parents, my brother and sister-in-law and my cousin Mitchell and I went to the Kurt Bestor Christmas Concert at UVU. It was so good, we have gone for the past three years now and so enjoy it everytime!
It was really dark in there so the pictures didn't turn out so good but as you can see we were pretty close to the stage!
Ya so thanks to my cousin Mitch for coming with me and being my date at the last minute! He doesn't look like he's having too much fun in this picture but that's not the case at all. I snapped this before he could pose and well as he described it in his own words, "It was Tight" which ya can't better than that :-)

Goodbye Allens...

So December 6th was the big day, the day I said goodbye to my second job after two years of working two! I am now officially back to just being a Dental Assistant. I came in that day and there on my checkstand, good ole' #2, was some balloons, a card and a little gift. It was such a fun surprise and well it meant a lot to me that all my coworkers had signed the card! It was a little sad but the happiness and freedom I felt far outweighed the sadness, that's for sure! I am grateful for my time there and the wonderful friends I made and customers I met. I will always remember all the good times from my Allens days! :-)

Gingerbread House Heaven

At the Festival of Trees they also had incredible Gingerbread Houses people had made that were for sale and all proceeds go to Primary Children's Hospital. They were so amazing and fun to look at... the time and effort that went into these... ya AMAZING!

This castle was fantastic, I wonder how long it took to make?

This was a Twilight one of Bella's house with Edward in the tree and Bella's truck is off to the side of the house.

I just thought this one was really pretty!

There were so many different kinds, people are so creative!

This one was called "The Highway Man"

Festival Of Trees

Back on December 3rd my parents and my friend Toni and her little boy James and I went up to the Festival Of Trees in Draper. Every year they hold this event in which people donate decorated trees for people to buy and then all the proceeds go to Primary Children's hospital! It is such a great cause and so fun to go and look at all the different creatively decorated trees!

The Twilight Tree: this was Toni and I's favorite of course :-)

Good Ole' Thomas The Train: I know several little boys who would love this one!

Now this tree should definitely win an award for creativity, all made out of golf clubs and with a big shiny red golf ball sitting a top a tee for the topper!
James liked looking at all the trees, but we wore him out after awhile. He was one tired little guy by the end of the night.

I thought this snowman tree was really cute. I loved the snowflakes on it!

Catch up!

Well seeing as how the last post I have on here was of Thanksgiving I have a little catching up to do, like all the happenings of the month of December!
A Tree For Cindi
So I went shopping at the after Thanksgiving sales and got this prelit tree at Walmart for 25$ Then the next day I took it up to my cousin Cindi's apartment and surprised her, my mom and I got the decorations for it and yes we even found purple ornaments (Cindi's absolute favorite color), it was so fun seeing the joy in her face that this simple little surprise brought to her!

This picture says it all! I'm so glad you love your purple tree, Cindi :-)

Happy Thanksgiving

So it was another wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma's this year...I am so thankful for such a special Grandmother who takes such good care of her family!
So my cousin Brandon, who is 3,could not wait for dinner, he was the first one at the table and sneaking food off of it before the blessing was said and when no one was looking, but I caught him in the act! All he could say was "Tami you sitting by me for dinner" and I responded with "Of Course!" :-)The fam sitting at the long table getting ready to eat

The yummy fantastic food!

It was Alicia's birthday this year on Thanksgiving so her and Michael went to her families this year but they came over later on that night to spend a little time with us and for her to open her birthday presents

Primary Program

We had the Primary Program in my ward back on November 23rd and well I was so proud of my kids, they had all their parts memorized completely! The theme this year was I Am A Child of God so they had all the kids draw pictures of themselves to put on the programs. So cute! We have this one little girl in our primary who is absolutely amazing, this girl can sing let me tell you! Her name is Anna and she is eight years old but she has the talent of years and years of experience in her little powerful voice. She sang the first and last verses of I Am A Child Of God, solo into the microphone and well I don't think there was very many dry eyes in the audience, I know I had tears streaming down my cheeks and goosebumps all over my arms. So beautiful and such a talented little girl! It was a very spiritual meeting and one I will never forget! I am so grateful for my calling and absolutely love it!

Snow Time. . .

It was snowing today as I was leaving for work this morning and well it was just so pretty outside that I had to stop and take a few pictures :-)

A Fun Visit...

My good friend Krystal and her little boy Spencer came down for a visit this past Monday morning. It was so fun to get together and catch up! We went over to Kneaders and had breakfast and then came back to my house and visited for a bit. Spencer so enjoyed seeing our cats George and Whiskers. Before we went to breakfast he got to see both cats but when we came back only George was around, but Spencer wasn't satisfied with only one, he knew there was two and wanted them both to be there. He kept calling for "George" over and over again, even when George was right beside him, but he was actually looking for Whiskers. I think if George could talk he would have been saying "Hello, I'm right here next to you" :-) Krystal and I got quite the kick out of him running around the yard calling for George while looking for Whiskers, with George trotting right beside him the whole time! It was so dang cute and absolutely hilarious to me :-) Thanks Krystal for a fun morning, I'm so glad you guys came down to see me!

Trunk or Treat

Well I can now officially say that I have participated in a Trunk-or Treat! I didn't really quite know how to decorate my trunk exactly so I just pulled out my big tub of decorations I used to decorate my office with and well just went with whatever. Not too bad for my first try :-)

Ya so I had this tablecloth I put down as a background and that little pumkin in the middle was battery powered so it looked really cool all lit up, I had a few of those in there. And well not too bad of a selection of candy either, eh?

These are two of my primary kids dressed up... Samantha the Witch (my cousin) and Darth Vader Dax! They're so cute!

This is Derek aka Darth Vader. He is not smiling but as I was informed "Darth Vader never really smiles" So true, he was taking his role very seriously! :-)

A fun Surprise, my brother and sister-in-law stopped in at the trunk or treat to show us their costumes before they went to their Halloween Party! Michael was quite enjoying himself dressed up as a Scottishman from Braveheart (one of his all time favorite movies) and Alica was a... well you know, a lady from that time period! :-) Ya so the trunk or treat was a complete success except for the fact that it did start to rain part way through getting everyones trunks just a tad bit soaked! Oh well that does not stop the FUN by any means!

Relaxing Afternoon. . .

So I only had to work a half a day yesterday on Halloween, which was so NICE! After I got home I decided I would go out and take some more pictures in the yard. Each day the leaves are changing more and more and well I love trying to capture the beauty of it all!

I love our apple trees with the mountains in the back ground!

Gardner Village...

My friend Toni, her little boy James and I went up to Gardner Village one morning before I went to work. It is such a fun place to go especially at Halloween Time! They have witches all set out everywhere amongst all the little shops.

We were having a hard time getting someone to take our picture at first cause no one was walking by so we had to just improvise and take it ourselves, which is always hard to do without cutting someone partially out and it doesn't help that I'm squinting, but dang do we both have white teeth or what? Gotta love being a Dental Assistant in that regard :-)

This is one of my favorite witches in the background, they have her up in the air riding a bicycle.

And this witch was showing off her hula-hooping skills :-)

Mr. James all bundled up in his stroller, he liked being outside and he was such good boy the whole time! We had so much fun :-)

A Fun Night with A Fun Friend...

So my friend Emily and I went and saw Leann Rimes in concert at the Abravenal Hall in Salt Lake back on Friday October 3rd. It was so fun and she did a really good job! At the very end of the concert she sang Amazing Grace, acapella without her band, and well it was AMAZING! She has such a powerful voice, that just gives you chills when she sings that song! I thought it was extra cool too cause the proceeds of the concert went to benefit the Regence Caring Foundation which gives free dental care for children in low income families in Utah that can't afford it.

!We went and walked around Temple Square for a few minutes before the concert started. I don't really like this picture of me so much but hey for blogging purposes sometimes you just have to make a sacrifice :-) I still have my black eye in this picture and well I think that definitely adds to the reason of me hating it so much. Oh well at least it shows we were having fun! Thanks Em for going with me :-)

They have really pretty fountains out in front of Abravanel Hall!

A Beautiful Fall Day...

I took these pictures in my yard last Sunday afternoon...it was such a beautiful day, the sky was so blue and well I just love our yard in the fall!  Our cat George was following me all around the whole time I was out taking pictures.  He wanted to be a part of it all and well I find that he is a great listener!  We were having a nice talk and walk that afternoon :-)

First Snowfall

So back on Oct 12th, that Sunday Morning we woke up to our first snowfall of the season.  It was weird because all the leaves were still on the trees and we so hadn't picked all of our apples yet, but as I walked around our yard taking pictures after church, it made me so happy none the less.  I love that I live in a place that has such distinct seasons... each one is important and beautiful in its own way and well I couldn't help singing in my head "What a Wonderful World..."  :-)
