Quite The Compliment...

So no pictures on this post but I have a funny story to share... today during primary one of the new little girls in my class this year (Miranda who is five) climbed up on my lap during sharing time. She has a thing for hair so she kept playing with mine especially running her fingers through my bangs. All of sudden her little face lights up and she says to me "Teacher did you know that you look just like Tinkerbell and she is the most beautiful of all" I said really I had no idea. She then said "Well acutally you would look the mostest like her if you weared your hair up in a bun" I laughed and then asked her if I should wear it that way next week. Her eager reply was "Oh yes teacher please oh please you have to, so you can be my Tinkerbell teacher" How absolutely adorable is that? And talk about a self-esteem builder being compared to Tinkerbell (now if I only had her body) but I guess with me wearing my hair straight and the way it was styled I'm ranked right up there with her at least Miranda's eyes and that well just melts my heart! Oh how I love being in primary, it brings such joy into my life!

Happy New Year!

We had our annual New Year's Eve party at Grandma's, where we eat yummy sandwiches and salads, cheeseball and Grandma's famous punch (cherry koolaid, orange juice, and sprite) play games and decorate the tree (again) :-)
This is been a tradition in our family ever since my mother was little. How it came about was one New Year's Eve night my grandparents went out on a date and left the kids with a babysitter, but they felt bad for leaving the kids on a holiday so they got them balloons and confettii to play with, it being New Years and all. And well this is what they came home to, the kids had put the balloons and confetti all over the Christmas Tree. My grandparents thought that was a pretty cool idea and so now every year since we decorate the tree again on New Year's Eve with confetti and balloons! I remember how fun this was to do with my cousins growing up and well even now as an adults we all still enjoy it very much!

Sam and Brandon posing for a picture after all the decorating was finished!

Merry Christmas!

It was such a wonderful Christmas, we got to sleep in until after 9:00 (Mike and Alicia left at 7:00 to go to her families but then came back around 11:00) we had cinnammon french toast from Kneaders with their yummy syrup (courtsey of the Blake's they gave me a huge basket from there for Christmas) and then opened our gifts around 1:00. It was such a fun relaxing day
Alicia and I got twin pajamma's from my parents

Opening the stockings... Mike still wasn't quite awake :-)

Dad waiting and contemplating opening the presents

Izzy just wondering what is going on?

And boy did we wear her out, she was one tired puppy but she sure looked cute in her Christmas Sweater!

Christmas Eve Night

After we got home from Grandma's that night, Alicia helped me finishing wrapping a few presents and then we opened are Christmas Pajamma's from my parents

Our stockings were hung with care, even Izzy has one of her own!

The lights on the tree were twinkling...

Mike and Alicia spent the night, which makes it so much more fun!

Goodnight Brother!

White Christmas!

Well we were lucky enough to have a White Christmas this year :-) It was snowing huge flakes when we left Grandma's Christmas Eve and then we woke up to this, those are Mike and Alicia's footprints in the snow cause they left and went to her parents house that morning after they slept over and then came back to ours

I took this picture of my dad out the window which I think is really cool cause it looks like he was totally posing for me but no he had just stopped to rest. We shoveled the driveway three times that day!

Christmas Eve

We had our annual family Christmas Party at Grandma's on Christmas Eve, with a yummy dinner, a reading of the Christmas Story, singing Christmas carols, and opening our presents from Grandma. This year we had Grandma open ours that night from all the grandkids so we could watch her just like she watches us :-)
I bought Izzy a Christmas outfit and boy did she look cute!
My mom and I in our twin shirts. We have a tradtion that we always buy a Christmas shirt the same and where it to Grandma's on Christmas Eve

My cousin Cindi and I in front of Grandma's pretty tree

Brandon posing with me for a picture, he was so excited for Santa to come that night! It's so great to be around children and see the excitement glowing in their eyes!

And Sam was really decked out from head to toe!

A Shoveling We Go...

On December 22nd, my mom's birthday we got a huge snow storm! It started snowing that morning and did not stop until that evening around 7:00. We were suppose to go out to dinner that night for the big birthday but we couldn't go anywhere until we shoveled ourselves out and there was about 10 inches and it was dang wet and heavy! The snow blower needed a new spark plug so it was out of commission. That left it up to my dad and I, the snow shoveling machines :) I got home from work at 4:30 and started to help and we did not come in until a little after seven. Mike and Alicia came by and brought Blimpie sandwichs for the birthday dinner instead of us going out since the roads were such a mess!

Whiskers came out from her box in the gargage to check out what was going on but she soon realized how freezing it was and quickly headed back inside!

Ya that was a lot of snow and boy did I have sore arms the next day, let me tell ya!
